Slow weekend. Disappointed with Indiana Jones IV. I can't believe Harrison Ford agreed to do this kind of massacre. Watched Raiders of the Lost Ark to erase all bad memories.
Took a few breaks in between studying. Persistent headache. Staying up late, waking up later than I would have liked. Must resume early morning study habit by tomorrow.
The first week of bar prep is almost over. I have cleaned up the apartment, taken out the trash, and a huge load of laundry. The textbooks still need to be sold, but it is not a priority right now. As long as there is non-expired food in the fridge, I am pretty much set to go. Office supplies have been ordered and should arrive early next week.
In assessing whether the pre-bar practice exams has helped me or not, I think it has helped me with a little bit of test-taking skills. I did not have time to study the substantive laws yet, although it was a good refresher of first year topics. Surprisingly, there has been a mixup in the topics I thought I had scored quite well in pre-bar-prep practice questions.

When my parents came to visit Vikingland, they commented on how awful the weather is, and how there is absolutely nothing to do around here. This is true; there is absolutely nothing interesting to do in this town, especially if you are vegetarian, do not drink alcohol, love sunshine, and hate shopping.
But I kind of appreciate the blandness of this town when it comes to studying for the bar exam. The weather is perfectly awful enough that I do not even dream about lying in the sun and taking a nap. And when I do go outside, the 40 degree winds force me to run into a building to duck for cover. A recent spree of felonies near campus makes me testy about hanging around parking lots and cafes, especially after dark. Furthermore, last winter's well-learned lesson of not caving in to online shopping have all but forced me into an indoor study seclusion.
Yet this does not make an effective studying habit. I must stay focused and study effectively (not blindly, which is quite tempting when one has absolutely nothing else to do but freak out about the impending exam).
I thought 3 years of law school is like going to a boot camp. If that is so, then bar prep is like the mother of all boot camps. There are homework assignments, readings, diagnostic exams, note-taking...I think I have typed over 100 pages of notes already and it is only in 3 days. I have spent more time studying and going to classes than I have eating and sleeping.
The good news is I really like the way subjects are taught. Concise.
Graduation was lovely. Parents came, parents toured, parents lavished a lot of attention/expressed pride/love, parents left. Sad. Bar prep class starts early, ended late. Slept. Grades are out. Happy. More bar prep. College roommate called, said she is in town. Hang out at ice cream shop. Came home near midnight. Shower. Bedtime. Tomorrow, repeat.
